Welcome to the library!

Where are my glasses? I can’t find them… Maybe in this… OH! Well, hello! Mmmm… You are not students in my school, right? Oh, I see! You go to another school! In that case, I must introduce myself. I am Jennifer Honey, but everyone calls me Miss Honey, and I am a teacher. It’s so nice to meet you!

Ah, here they are! I always have my glasses in my desktop, but I didn’t remember I put them in the drawer… Anyway. I’m glad you are here! Maybe you can help me with something… Something difficult. I don’t know where is Matilda. She went to the library yesterday, and she didn’t come back. And then… BAM! A lot of witches have appeared, and my aunt, Miss Agatha Trunchbull, is back in the town! It smells like trouble in here…

I’ve been to the library to find Matilda, but I found a very different situation: Matilda was gone, and all the books were destroyed. Everything was full of torn pages… And no sign of Matilda, of course. It smelled very weird, a strange smell I had never smelled before. In fact, I read about it in some book… The smell of a witch! I looked around the library, on the streets, and I saw them: a big group of women, all very strange, walking down the road.

Between all those terrible witches, I could see my aunt Agatha! I always knew she was dangerous: she may be a witch! That’s why she didn’t like children, why she’s so evil… Well, maybe she is not a witch at all, but I’m sure she’s helping them. They have a common enemy: children!

“Miss Trunchbull, the Headmistress, was something else altogether. She was a gigantic holy terror, a fierce tyrannical monster who frightened the life out of the pupils and teachers alike. There was an aura of menace about her even at a distance, and when she came up close you could almost feel the dangerous heat radiating from her as from a red-hot rod of metal. When she marched — Miss Trunchbull never walked, she always marched like a storm-trooper with long strides and arms swinging — when she marched along a corridor you could actually hear her snorting as she went, and if a group of children happened to be in her path, she ploughed right on through them like a tank, with small people bouncing off her to left and right.”

Yes… She was the old headmistress of the school… She was a nightmare for all the children in there! She left the town, but now she’s back, and I’m afraid I know where Matilda is… She took her! Unfortunately, we can’t stop her. Miss Trunchbull is very strong, and I couldn’t hurt a fly. She’s my aunt, after all. But there is something we can do.

As I said, Matilda loves reading, and so do I. Books are very helpful when you want to look for information, but they can also be great allies when you want to travel far away. Maybe, only maybe, we can find a solution in some of those books. But as I said, they are destroyed! I think we should go to the library and try to repair them. Press the red button, and come with me!
